A year after the City Council approved a Right of Way (ROW) agreement with the company, Nora Springs-based Omnitel Communications has begun the process of installing broadband fiber in downtown Charles City.
Gary Schotanus is the Director of Sales and Service at Omnitel, who says work started last week is the initial phase of the project.
After the construction phase is completed, Schotanus says they’ll then start providing their broadband service.
Schotanus says the downtown Charles City area is the starting point for Omnitel, but they hope to expand service throughout the City based on demand from customers.Â
