Closed Highway 18/North Grand Intersection in Charles City to Reopen Friday

One of Charles City’s busiest intersections, closed to thru traffic since Tuesday, could be reopened Friday.

The intersection of Highway 18 and North Grand Avenue has been closed for sewer repair work. Water and Street Superintendent Cory Spieker says a sanitary sewer line collapsed and the contractor for the project is on track to complete the work and reopen the intersection by Friday afternoon, as long as the weather cooperates.
