Charles City School Board Extends Superintendent Lundquist

The Charles City School Board has approved a new one-year contract for Dr. Anne Lundquist to continue serving as the district’s superintendent.

Lundquist told Board members during their regular meeting Monday (05.22) night that she didn’t need a long term contract for them to show approval of her performance.

Lundquist’s contract for the 2023-24 school year starts July 1st and comes with no increase in her salary.

Lundquist initially took over as Charles City Schools superintendent on an interim basis in July of 2022, filling a vacancy created when Mike Fisher resigned after four years at the helm in Charles City to become the Superintendent in his hometown of Oskaloosa.

Last November, the School Board removed the “interim” tag and named her full-time Superintendent for the remainder of the current school year, which runs through June 30th.
