Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Bolte 2A State Girls Golf Champ

Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Chloe Bolte is the 2023 Girls Class 2A State individual golf champion.

Bolte won the title by 10 shots Friday (05.26) in Marshalltown, leading the Cougars to a 4th place team finish.  New Hampton’s Lauren Nuss finished 19 shots behind Bolte to place sixth. The Chickasaws as a team finished third.

In Class 1A girls state golf in Boone, Nashua-Plainfield’s Paige Franzen put together back-to-back rounds of 87 to finish fourth individually, 15 shots behind the champion, Abbie Lindeman of Grundy Center. Reagan Mulder of North Butler, who was third after round one, tumbled to 21st in the final standings.

In the Class 3A tournament in Cedar Falls, Brenna Bodensteiner of Waverly-Shell Rock finished 7th. Charles City’s Claire Girkin was 59th.
