Public Health Approach to Alzheimer’s & Other Dementias Program This Afternoon at Charles City Public Library

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness month and a program set for this afternoon will focus Alzheimer’s, dementia and related topics.
That’s Greg Woods, the Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias Coordinator from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
The program will begin at 5:00pm this afternoon at the Charles City Public Library.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and is a progressive disease that affects the parts of the brain controlling thought, memories and emotions. Though Alzheimer’s disease mostly affects older adults, it is not a normal part of aging.
