Early Registration Ends Friday for Charles City Firecracker 5K
Early registration, which includes a free t-shirt, ends Friday for the 2023 Charley Western Firecracker 5K run/walk in Charles City.
Proceeds from the annual July 4th event, coordinated by Main Street Charles City, go towards repairs and improvements of the recreational trail.
Registration is $30 on or before Friday (June 23) for ages 19 and up, and $25 on or before Friday (June 23) for ages 18 and under. Registrations after June 23rd will be $5 more and not include a free race shirt.
A new Kids Fun Run has also been added for the event and is free of charge. Registration will open at 6:30 am Tuesday morning, July 4th, with the 5K race at 7:30 am, starting and finishing by the high school football field. The Kids Fun Run around the high school track begins at 8:30 am.
For those who register before the June 23rd deadline, there is a shirt opt out option that will save you $5 off your fee. There will not be a 5 Mile race option this year.
Awards will be given out for both men and women in 14 different age categories, as well as the overall male and female first place finishers. The race will conclude time for the annual Independence Day Parade.
