Motorists are being alerted to road closures in the area of the Highway 218/18/27/Avenue of the Saints interchange at Floyd on Tuesday (07.11).
The Iowa Dot says the eight-hour closure will allow crews to repair some damaged shoulders and replace some traffic control devices.
Pete Hjelmstad with the DOT’s Mason City District Office has previously noted that winds have presented challenges with the positioning of the temporary traffic lights at that intersection on and off throughout construction.
The road closures are slated to begin at 8 am Tuesday. Travel impacts include:
Eastbound U.S. 18
- Closed at Floyd County Road T-38
Westbound U.S. 18/northbound U.S. 218
- Closed at Iowa 14 (exit 214)
Southbound U.S. 218
- Detoured using Floyd County Road T-44 to U.S. 218 at Exit 212
During this eight-hour closure, you can only access the city of Floyd by traveling in from the north on U.S. 218 (see map).
