Charles City Student, Steer Compete at Iowa State Fair

A Charles City student and her steer will compete for top honors at this year’s Iowa State Fair.
Senior-to-be Taylor Quade, also the Charles City FFA Chapter President, and her steer, Max, are among the finalists in this Saturday’s Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show.
Quade is sponsored in the competition by the Friends of Floyd County. She says she’ll also be showing a pair of pigs at this year’s State Fair.
Other area representatives in the Governor’s Steer Show include Andrew Matthias and his steer, Louis, from Fairbank/Fayette County, and Nadine Klaffke and her steer, Goose, from Alden/Franklin County.Â
