Mildred Mullenbach, 95, Osage

Mildred Mullenbach, 95, of Osage, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, Iowa.

A funeral Mass for Mildred Mullenbach will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, Iowa with Reverend Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the church Monday morning.

Mildred Margaret Mullenbach was born October 20, 1927, in Alta Vista, Iowa to Gregory and Josephine (Buckholtz) Spoden. Mildred married Harold Mullenbach on May 1, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, Iowa. The couple lived in the Osage area where they raised three children: Tyrone, Terry and Tracy.

Through her life, Mildred worked at the A&W drive-in for the Streblaws then for Marc and Tim Kisner at the Town Pump in Mitchell, Iowa. She also worked at the Fashion Corner in Osage until the shop closed and cleaned at the PCA office in Osage.

Mildred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage where she was active in various ways. She held the position as chaplain for the American Legion in Osage for 20 years. Mildred took care of the flower planters at the cemetery, and she was a member of the VFW in Osage.

Living family members include her son, Terry Mullenbach; daughter-in-law, Margie Mullenbach; son, Tracy (Darcy) Mullenbach; grandchildren: Devin, Deane, Scott, Becca, Hanna and Kyle Mullenbach; great-grandchildren: Adyson and Riley; brother-in-law, Lavern Mullenbach; sister-in-law, Marie Mullenbach; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Josephine Spoden; infant twin sisters; in-laws, Fred and Berthe Mullenbach; husband, Harold; son, Tyrone; and infant granddaughter, Monique.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one.
