Mobile Food Pantry Wednesday in Charles City with New Hours

The October Mobile Food Pantry visits Charles City Wednesday (10.04) with new distribution hours.

Jenn Burton with Valero Renewables is the site coordinator for the food distribution at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds. She says, with reduced daylight of the fall season, drive-thru distribution of food will be from 5 to 6 pm on the first Wednesday of every month now through the winter months.

To take advantage of the food distribution, Burton says you will have to verify you qualify.

Burton says verification can be completed while you’re in your car waiting line to receive food and, once registered, you’re set for future mobile pantries, which distribute about 10,000 pounds of the food each month provided by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

Burton adds that you do not need to be from Charles City and/or Floyd County to receive food.
