Plans Not Finalized Yet for Main Street Rehabilitation in Charles City

Plans are not yet finalized for the Main Street Rehabilitation Project in Charles City next summer.
The City held the first in a series of open house events this week for citizens and business owners to take a closer look at the designs proposed thus far and provide feedback.
Jason Petersburg is the project manager with the engineering firm of Veenstra and Kimm. He says the biggest challenge for design plans does not come from resurfacing Main Street.
The project will run from the Floyd County Courthouse to the reconfiguration of Lane Street/Main Street around to the intersection with North Grand Avenue.
Once work begins, Petersburg says construction could take three to four months.
Petersburg says they will continue to take input from the public before designs are finalized.Â
