Tours of CCHS to Show Need for $28.5 Million Bond ReferendumÂ

The Charles City School District will host a series of tours this weekend in hopes of giving the public a better understanding of the upgrades and improvements needed at Charles City High School.Â
If approved during the November 7th election, a $28,5 million bond referendum would “revitalize†the High School building that hasn’t had any major work done to it since it was built 63 years ago. It would also add a new 800-seat performing arts auditorium and
Mayor Dean Andrews is on the referendum committee helping to explain the bond to voters. He says that includes a series of tours, starting with first tours from 4 to 7 pm Friday (10.20) night, coincides with the Floyd County Izaak Walton League Chili Supper and the Comets final football game of the season against Clear Lake.
Tours are also offered from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday (10.21) and 1 to 3 pm Sunday (10.22).
The bond referendum will require a 60% majority YES vote to pass.
