Trump Touts Binkley For Meeting Milestone Before DeSantis

Presidential hopeful Ryan Binkley is being “trumpeted” by another candidate for his campaign efforts in Iowa.

A statement released Monday (11.27) by former President Donald Trump touted fellow Republican Binkley for outperforming Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the first candidate to visit all 99 counties in Iowa; countering a claim made by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds on behalf of DeSantis.

During a rally in Charles City on November 19th, Reynolds, who has endorsed her fellow Governor, stated DeSantis was the first candidate to hit the “Full Grassley” by visiting all 99 Iowa counties, much like that of the yearly pilgrimage of US Senator Chuck Grassley. However, Trump’s letter notes that Binkley, the pastor from Dallas, hit the 99-county milestone in Iowa almost two weeks earlier on November 10th.

Trump, the Republican front runner, added that, “If Ron DeSantis can’t even keep up with Ryan Binkley in Iowa, how can he be expected to be competitive with Nikki “Birdbrain” Haley for distant second place?”

Despite the salute to Binkley, Trump’s statement also points out that Binkley is polling at nearly 0% in Iowa.

Still, Binkley says more than 81,000 unique donors have contributed to his campaign and he is on track to be on the primary ballot in all 50 states and five territories. He has also qualified to appear on the ballot in 12 early states.

Binkley visited with voters in Charles City in June during the early stages of his campaign in Iowa.
