Breaking: County Road Snow Removal Update from Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office

As of now, the Chickasaw County and State road crews are continuing to work diligently to plow the roads. Chickasaw County has sent out one way trucks on hard surfaced roads as well as maintainers on gravel roads.
County road crews are planning to work until 5 PM today and return at 5 AM on Saturday 01/13/24 and Sunday 01/14/24 to continue to snow removal.
State road crews will be out today until 9 PM and as of now the State plans to have trucks work only HWY 63 and 218 through out the overnight hours. HWY 18, 24 and 346 will not be maintained during the overnight hours. State crews will be back out in full force at 4 AM on Saturday 01/13/24 and Sunday 01/14/24 to continue on all State Highways.
Please do not travel unless it is necessary or in an emergency. If you become stranded, please call 911 and we will do our best to get to you as soon as we can. Please stay with your vehicle and be prepared to be there for several hours.
We are still towing vehicles and that will continue at the discretion of the tow operators.
This is an ever changing situation and County and State road crews will not operate if visibility conditions deteriorate. We will keep everyone updated on this page.
Be Safe,
Sheriff Ryan Shawver
