Floyd, Chickasaw County Republicans, Democrats Caucus Monday
Despite the forecasts for frigid weather Monday (01.15) night, Republicans and Democrats across Iowa will meet to caucus as planned.
House District 58 State Representative Charley Thomson of Charles City, also chair of the Floyd County Republicans, says the caucuses give Iowa an “outsized voice†in national politics.
Floyd County Republicans will caucus at Washington Elementary School in Charles City. Thomson says you must be in line by 7 pm and be registered as a Republican to participate.
Party registration also applies to participate in the Democratic caucuses Monday night at 7, which Chickasaw County Democratic chair Amanda Glaser encourages young voters to also be part of.
Glaser notes that the way Democrats caucus will be different in 2024 in the wake of the party’s issues reporting presidential results in 2020.
The Iowa Democratic Party plans to release results on Super Tuesday, March 5th.Â
