Authorities in northeast Iowa are investigating the discovery of a dead body.
The Waukon Police Department says they responded to the 100 block of 1st Avenue Southwest in Waukon to conduct a welfare check on Monday (01.22). A deceased adult was found in the residence and the death is being treated as suspicious in nature. An autopsy will be performed by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.Â
WPD says there is no threat to the public.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol are also assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.
