Chickasaw County Conservation will host a “Forestry Field Day†Saturday (02.03) at Twin Ponds Nature Center southeast of Ionia.
Naturalist Matt Crayne says DNR Forester Maison Hubrig will lead the Winter Tree ID program.Â
Crayne says they will employ some tried and true methods of identifying trees in the winter, including branch structure, bark, buds, and leaf scars.
The free program will start at 1 pm Saturday, with a forecast calling for a party sunny sky and temps in the upper 30s to low 40s.
