Charles City Schools Superintendent Lundquist to Retire
The Charles City School District has begun a search for a new Superintendent.
Anne Lundquist has announced she will retire at the end of the current school year, June 30th. Lundquist came out of retirement in April of 2022, when she was named interim superintendent, filling the vacancy created when former Superintendent Mike Fisher resigned to take the same position with the Oskaloosa School District.Â
Lundquist has held the position ever since, but she says she started thinking of retirement recently before making a decision that wasn’t easy.
The School Board met in special session Thursday (02.01) to accept Lundquist’s retirement resignation and then moved to begin contacting search firms to assist the district in finding her replacement.
Lundquist noted that this is her third attempt at retirement.
