A fire in Charles City Saturday (02.03) morning was a training exercise for area firefighters.
Charles City Fire Rescue, along with the Colwell and Floyd fire departments, were able to utilize a house on South Iowa Street to work on different firefighting tactics as well as introduce newer firefighters to the evolution of a fire. As training concluded, firefighters allowed the structure to burn in a controlled manner, which will allow the owner to clear the lot. Â
