Search for Next Charles City Schools Superintendent Seeks Stakeholder Input

The Charles City School District has begun the process of searching for its next Superintendent.
Current Superintendent Anne Lundquist will retire at the end of this school year, June 30th. Lundquist came out of retirement in April of 2022, when she was named interim superintendent, filling the vacancy created when former Superintendent Mike Fisher resigned to take the same position with the Oskaloosa School District. She has held the the position ever since.
The School District has hired the search firm, McPherson and Jacobson, to help find her replacement. The company’s Steve Murley laid out the hiring process during Monday (02.26) night’s School Board meeting.
Murley says he’s already been in conversations with teachers in the school district to get a feel for what they look for in a superintendent and the public also has a chance to weigh in with a stakeholder survey, now available on the school website.
