Charles City Trivia Night Saturday (03.02) to Benefit Riverside Cemetery Chapel

The 6th Annual Charles City Trivia Night this weekend will again help pay for renovations to the chapel at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Student Isaac Sapp is with the Eighth Grade Riverside Chapel Committee.

Student Madison Vance says this year’s Trivia Night will feature a Disney theme.

Teams of six can participate in Trivia Night for $150. For more information, email [email protected]. Doors at Charles City Middle School open at 6:15 pm Saturday (03.02) night with competition starting at 7 pm.

In addition to renovating the century-plus-old chapel, eighth graders last year produced videos shedding light on select people buried at Riverside  Cemetery. The videos can be viewed by QR codes available at the gravesite.

Sapp says Charles City students also have their own special connection with the cemetery.

Named after Logan Luft, who was 15 when he fatally injured in an ATV accident in 2017, Logan’s Law was enacted in 2019 and allows hunting, fishing and trapping license buyers to declare as an organ, eye and tissue donor, when purchasing hunting and fishing licenses.

According to the Iowa DNR website, upon his death, Logan’s organs saved five lives and his tissue and bones helped another 21.
