Authorities Continue Seeking Public’s Help Locating Northeast Iowa Man

Authorities in northeast Iowa continue to seek the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for a variety of illegal activities.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office and Decorah Police Department are trying to track down 26-year-old Brandon Kimber of Cresco for parole and probation violations in Winneshiek County.  The Howard County Sheriff’s Office says they’re also on the lookout for Kimber on a second-degree theft charge.

Law enforcement said Kimber was last seen Wednesday (03.06) in southern Winneshiek County driving a red 2016 Ford Focus, which was stolen and used in the commission of crimes. Officials add that Kimber has been on the run and could be anywhere, although he’s been known to be in the Decorah and Postville areas.

Court records show Kimber has a lengthy list of criminal convictions, including OWI, assault, second- and third-degree theft, third-degree burglary, drug possession and twice for operating a vehicle without owner’s consent in Winneshiek County.

Kimber has also been convicted twice on second-degree burglary charges in Allamakee County, plus operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and two counts of third-degree motor vehicle burglary in Howard County.

All convictions have come between 2018 and 2023.

If you or anyone you know is aware of the location of Kimber, please contact the Decorah Police Department or Howard County Sheriff’s Office. All tips can be anonymous.
