Statewide Tornado Drill Wednesday (03.27) at 10 AM

It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa, with Tuesday’s (03.26) emphasis on tornado safety and the statewide tornado drill slated for 10 am Wednesday (03.27).

Jason Webster is Emergency Management Director for Floyd County. He offers a reminder of the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning.

A statewide tornado drill will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday, which Mike Kurz, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in La Crosse, says is a great time to put your tornado safety plan into practice.

Webster also encourages citizens to stay ahead of the storm game by signing up for Alert Iowa, the statewide weather alerting system.
