A north Iowa man is dead after his motorcycle struck a deer northeast of Mason City last weekend.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says the fatal collision occurred in the 1300 block of Broad Street in Plymouth and was discovered by a deputy shortly before 4:30 am Sunday (03.31) morning. 22-year-old Allan Shafer of Mason City was riding a motorcycle when he hit a deer that entered the road.
Shafer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mason City Police Department, Mason City Fire Department, and Plymouth Fire Department assisted at the scene.
