Northeast Iowa Litterbug Facing Over Two Dozen Citations

A alleged northeast Iowa litterbug is facing over two dozen citations for the illegal activity.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report last Sunday (03.31) of box springs, beds and numerous bags of garbage thrown in the ditch on Echo Valley Road and Imperial Road.  An investigation resulted in 32-year-old Christopher Loren-Ray Zuercher of West Union being charged with 29 counts of depositing or throwing litter on a highway.

Sheriff Marty Fisher says Zuercher was ordered to return to the scene and remove all the garbage he deposited while in the presence of Sheriff’s Deputies. His fines will total almost $4,600.

In a Facebook post, Fisher thanked the citizens of Fayette County who reported this incident.
