...SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING...

.Very strong winds will develop Tuesday evening with the
strong wind gusts persisting into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts over
50 mph are expected. Much of the area has 6 inches or more of snow
on the ground. While there may be an initial crust on the top layer
of the snow, it will erode quickly leading to significant blowing and
drifting of snow. Near white-out and blizzard conditions may occur.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers
are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are
possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly
impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.

 Iowa 14 Near Roseville in Floyd County Closes Monday for Bridge Replacement

A bridge replacement project slated to begin this Monday (04.08) will also mean a road closure about 10 miles southwest of Charles City.

The Mason City construction office of the Iowa DOT says the Iowa Highway 14 bridge over Flood Creek, between Floyd County roads B-45 and B-60 near Roseville, will be closed for replacement beginning Monday. Work is expected to continue until late October, weather permitting. 

While the roadway is closed, motorists will follow a marked detour route by traveling on Floyd County Road B-45 for four miles, Floyd County Road T-26 for six-and-a-half miles through the town of Marble Rock, and three miles on Floyd County Road B-60.
