New NIACC Charles City Career Academy Almost Complete

The new NIACC Career Academy in Charles City is getting closer to completion.

Construction started just over a year ago as NIACC prepares to offer career technical education (CTE) to high school students from seven area school districts.

That’s NIACC President Steve Schulz, who will see the Career Academy finished before he retires June 28th.

Schulz says initial CTE courses will include healthcare, construction, IT and advanced manufacturing. But, more collaboration with partner schools is possible down the road.

Schulz adds they’ll still be offering continuing education classes at the NIACC Center after they relocate from their temporary offices in downtown Charles City.

High school CTE courses at the Career Academy will be available to students when they return to school this August.
