Charles City Mobile Food Pantry Wednesday (05.29)

The next distribution of food to those in need through the Charles City Mobile Food Pantry (CCMFP) will come a bit early for the month of June.

That’s Jenn Burton, who will coordinate the distribution of food supplied by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. She says they’re planning enough food for about 250 households, with drive-thru distribution from 5 to 6 pm Wednesday (05.29) at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds.

In addition to many of the staples supplied to each month, Burton says some foods can fluctuate with the time of the year.

Burton adds that volunteers make the food distribution possible.

In an effort to increase their reach to people in need, the CCMFP began a collaboration in November for a delivery service through St. John Evangelical Church in Charles City.

You must meet financial eligibility requirements to receive the free food, which Burton says can be confirmed while you’re in your car waiting in line for your food. You’re advised to bring a valid ID.
