North Iowa Motorcyclist Airlifted to Hospital After Crash
A north Iowa man was airlifted to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle.
The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the wreck occurred about two miles west of Plainfield shortly before 3:30 pm Friday (06.14) afternoon. A Chevy PK being driven by 46-year-old Patrick Lentz of Plainfield was westbound on Highway 188 when it struck a Honda motorcycle operated by 34-year-old James Cummings of Greene, who entered the intersection on Yale Avenue.
Cummings was thrown from the motorcycle and was airlifted by Mercy AirMed helicopter to Allen Hospital in Waterloo with unspecified injuries. The ISP says Cummings was wearing a helmet.
Lentz was cited for failing to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. He was not injured.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Ambulance, Waverly Paramedics, Plainfield First Responders, and Plainfield Fire Department also assisted at the scene
