Fireworks and Pets Don’t Always Mix
Fireworks and pets don’t always mix well.
Julie Taylor with PAWS Humane Society in Charles City says when fireworks are set off, they can see an increase in the number of dogs brought to the animal shelter.
While microchipping your dog is the preferred way to ID your dog for quicker return home if your canine runs off, Taylor cites a social hack that shows any form of ID can be helpful.
Taylor says, unfortunately, an estimated 90% of the dogs who are brought into PAWs have no form of identification.
