Deere and Company Announces More Layoffs At Waterloo Operations

340+ Employees to go on Indefinite Layoff in September

Deere and Company will be laying off more than 300 employees in Waterloo, effective in late September.  An email sent out to employees on Wednesday morning, stated in part, “Today, we are announcing that John Deere Waterloo Operations will lay off 345 production employees, effective September 20, 2024. This layoff is indefinite and affects production workers with the least seniority at Waterloo Operations.”

Deere had recently announced layoffs at Dubuque, Davenport and Moline, Illinois as well as previous Waterloo layoffs in April and June.

With the impending layoffs at the Waterloo Operations this fall, that will mean a total of over 800 workers laid off in 2024.
