11th Annual Jon Tumilson Go Crush It 5K Challenge, Frogman FunRun Saturday (07.13)
11th Annual Jon Tumilson Go Crush It 5K Challenge and Frogman FunRun is set for Saturday (07.13) morning at the Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve just west of Rockford.
The event honors US Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson, a Rockford native, who was killed along with 29 other Americans and 1 service dog in action (KIA) August 6, 2011, while serving in Afghanistan.
Floyd County Conservation Naturalist Heidi Reams says a scenic course is ready for participants.
All proceeds from the race will support Retrieving Freedom to provide service dogs to our veterans.
To honor his memory, his family also founded 3 Minutes Out, to help active duty military, veterans, and their families through various programs.
