The 2024 Floyd County Fair opens later this week, just west of Charles City.
Fair Board President Kelsey Uetz says they could still use more volunteers to help festivities run smoothly for fairgoers.
Uetz says volunteers always seem to step when needed most.
Along with that free help, generous sponsors and donors help keep many fair festivities free of charge.
To volunteer, Uetz recommends reaching out through the Floyd County Fair Facebook page, which is also the best source for the latest updates on fair activities.
