Floyd County Fair Officially Opens Wednesday (07.17)

The Floyd County Fair begins its five-day run Wednesday (07.17) just west of Charles City.

Fair Board President Kelsey Uetz says the fairgrounds now feature a fully connected sidewalk system to allow for better movement for fair participants, workers and attendees with any special needs.

Uetz says the sidewalks are the final piece to the puzzle to the makeover the fairgrounds was forced to undergo by the tornado that struck five years ago this year. The tornado took down several buildings, one in an ironic “twist-er” of fate.

Still, those storm clouds of five years ago provided a “silver lining.”

While the 2024 Floyd County Fair officially begins Wednesday, festivities Tuesday (07.16) night included the crowning of Jada Litterer as Fair Queen, with Faye Krause named Little Miss and Parker Jensen Little Mister.
