New Hampton Baseball Finishes Second in State

The New Hampton baseball team could not claim the Class 2A State Championship Friday afternoon in Carroll.

The second-seeded Chickasaws fell to top-seeded Underwood 5-1 in the title matchup.

Eagles pitching limited New Hampton to just two hits and the Chickasaws didn’t score until the top of the 7th inning.

New Hampton finished 29-7. Underwood went 29-2 on the season.
