Final Charles City “Party in the Park” Friday (08.02) Has Olympic Theme

With the Summer Olympic Games currently going on in Paris, the final Party in the Park (PIP) event of the summer will feature the “Charles City Games” and some Olympic-style fun this Friday (8.02) night.
Organized by Main Street Charles City, each PIP from 5 to 9 pm in Central Park includes free admission and live music, plus food and beverage vendors in the park, a beer garden, various activities and display booths.
Friday night’s live music will be provided by the Kris Karr Band, which plays both covers and original music. Karr was inducted into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
The Charles City Games will be five Olympic-inspired activities geared for youth between 6 and 7 pm Friday, with treats for all participants and Gold, Silver and Bronze medals presented to the top three scorers overall in the five events.
Special PIP Tokens will be used in the park to purchase food, beverages or take part in some of the activities. The orange tokens are $1 each and are available in the park. Leftover tokens from previous PIP’s this summer or from 2023 are also still good. Any PIP tokens dated prior to last year are not.
