Saturday giveaways of free produce in Charles City are back.
That’s Master gardener Susan Jacob, who helps coordinate “Free Veggies-Floyd County.”
Jacob says the program is driven by local donations of fresh produce.
Those wishing to donate can drop off veggies at the Floyd County ISU Extension office or bring them to the Lions Rose Garden, at the corner of Main Street and Riverside drive in Charles City, starting at 9 am Saturday mornings prior to the giveaway of free produce from 10 am to noon.
Giveaways will continue each Saturday in August and September.
