Haley and Harley New Iowa Dairy Princess, Alternate

The new Iowa Dairy Princess and the Alternate Princess for 2024-25 hail from northeast Iowa.

At the 71st Iowa Dairy Princess contest last Wednesday (08.07) on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, 18-year-old Haley Ronnebaum of Earlville, representing Delaware County, was crowned Princess. She will be a freshman at Iowa State University this fall where she will study dairy science. 

Named Alternate Princess is 20-year-old Harley Baumler of Fort Atkinson, representing Fayette County. She is a junior at ISU studying agricultural and rural policy. She was also named Miss Congeniality.

The new Princess and Alternate will begin their duties September 1st.

Until then, 2023-24 Iowa Dairy Princess Ashley Elsbernd of Calmar/Winneshiek County, as well as 2023-24 Alternate Iowa Dairy Princess Elizabeth Fossum of Waterville/Allamakee County, will continue their reigns until the end of August. 

Ashley Elsbernd’s younger sister, Kendra Elsbernd, was among the contestants vying to become the next Iowa Dairy Princess. Other contestants included Kiele Eberling of Postville, Oliva Johnson of Elma, and Mallory Mohn of Lansing,
