One Month Left to Claim $500,000 Prize for Iowa Lottery Ticket Sold in North Iowa
There is less than one month left for someone to claim a $500,000 Powerball prize that was won with a ticket sold in North Iowa this past spring.
The Iowa Lottery is reminding players to double-check their tickets for the half-million dollar winning ticket purchased at Kwik Star at 1502 South Federal Avenue in Mason City in mid-March. The prize will expire on September 12th if it is not claimed by the deadline.
The prize was won not in a regular Powerball drawing, but in the Powerball Double Play drawing on March 16th. The winning Double Play numbers that night were: 9-11-13-29-69 and Double Play Powerball 12.
In the case of the Mason City ticket, it matched the first five numbers in the Double Play drawing, but missed the Double Play Powerball, still good enough to win a $500,000 prize. The winner must claim the prize at lottery headquarters in Clive.
To draw attention to the unclaimed half-million dollar prize, Lottery officials on Monday (08.12) gave away free plays to customers at the Kwik Star where the Powerball® ticket was purchased.
