Lundquist Lawsuit Against Charles City School Board Dismissed

The lawsuit filed by former Superintendent Anne Lundquist against members of the Charles City School Board has been dismissed.
In April, Lundquist was placed on administrative leave while, according to School Board President David Schrodt, the district investigated allegations that “raise questions about Dr. Lundquist’s fitness for duty and ability to serve as an employee of the Charles City Community School District.”
Lundquist filed a lawsuit against Schrodt and fellow Board members Bruce Koebrick, Dara Jaeger, Kathryn Fox and Josh Mack. In her petition, Lundquist noted that, on April 18th, she made copies of “private evaluation comments” regarding school employees, but left some notes on the copier. She claimed those notes were presented to Schrodt and she was suspended the next day.
In addition to claims of violating open meetings laws, Lundquist had sought a jury trial for intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation, invasion of privacy, and breach of contract.
However, there will be no trial after her attorney, Stephen Avery, entered notice on Thursday (08.22) that “plaintiff, Anne Lundquist, hereby dismisses with prejudice the above cause of action.”
That means the case is permanently closed and cannot be reopened, nor can Lundquist refile the case on the same grounds..
Attorney’s for Schrodt, Koebrick, Jaeger, Mack and Fox had filed motion themselves seeking to get the lawsuit dismissed earlier this month.
Schrodt acknowledged “the plaintiff did dismiss the case with prejudice.
Lundquist tells KCHA/KCZE, “We have reached a compromise settlement.”
