Fatal collision Sunday (09.29) in Cerro Gordo County

A northeast Iowa woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision Sunday (09.29) near Clear Lake.

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the crash occurred around 3 pm Sunday at the intersection of County Road S14 and County Road B43.  29-year-old Adaisha Allen of Cedar Falls was driving west in a 2017 Kia Forte and 59-year-old Julie Mikkelsen of Mason City was southbound in a 2004 Ford Expedition.  ISP says Allen was hit by Mikkelsen in the intersection, both vehicles rolled, and went into the ditch and field.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.  Mikkelsen was taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City for treatment of unspecified injuries.  

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner, and Clear Lake Fire/EMS assisted at the scene.
