The Phase 3 segment of the Tribe Trail in New Hampton was declared “complete” in late September. Still, Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman says some work remains.
Hackman says other features along the trail will be installed this fall or early next spring.
Phase 3 of the Tribe Trail connects the Chickasaw Wellness Center on the west side of town to Linn Avenue on the south side of New Hampton, where Hackman says they’re still waiting for lights to help trail users and pedestrians in general cross Linn Avenue.
In preparation for the official opening of the trail, Megan Baltes, involved since its inception eight years ago, says a board to recognize donors for helping make the trail a reality is also in the works.

Once completed, Baltes says the donor board will be erected at the trailhead at Mikkelson Park.
