The New Hampton Police Department (NHPD) is once again in hiring mode.
Officer Chad McGee has submitted his resignation, with his last day of October 28th. According to the City of New Hampton website, McGee has been with the NHPD since 2012. McGee’s letter of resignation, included with the informational packet for Monday (10.21) night’s City Council meeting, indicates he will join the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office.
Earlier this year, McGee served as interim NPHD chief from May 9th until current Police Chief Conrad Rosendahl took over July 1st. McGee was given the interim tag after the previous interim chief, Doug Eagan, resigned. Eagan had been named interim chief in the wake of the resignation of former Police Chief Tim Pederson in April over an off-duty incident.
Eagan has since joined the Cresco Police Department. Meanwhile, McGee will become the second NHPD officer in recent months to join the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), with Austin Hageman departing the New Hampton staff in July to become a BCSO deputy.
