Minnesota Man Who Led NEIA Law on High-Speed Pursuit Agrees to Plea Deal

A Minnesota man who led law enforcement on a high-speed chase this past spring that started near New Hampton has agreed to a plea deal.
On April 12th, a Chickasaw County Sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop on a car driven by 24-year-old Quaddre White of St. Paul clocked at 98 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 63. White initially pulled over, but then sped away.
A pursuit continued south into Bremer County and then Waterloo, where the Chickasaw County deputy crashed his patrol truck into another vehicle, with both vehicles totaled. Before White was eventually stopped on I-380 south of Waterloo, the chase reached speeds of 126 mph and covered about 50 miles in all.
White was charged with possessing almost 140 grams of marijuana with intent to distribute, plus failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and eluding, all felonies. Charges, filed in Bremer County, also included OWI and interference with official acts.
On Monday (10.21), White agreed to plead guilty to a controlled substance violation and eluding, both Class D felonies, plus OWI, a serious misdemeanor. Drug tax stamp and marijuana possession charges will be dismissed.
White is now scheduled to be sentenced December 13th in Bremer County District Court.
