Christmas Cheer Fund Returns After Year Absence

After a one-year absence, the Christmas Cheer Fund is returning in 2024.

That’s Ozzie Ohl, vice-president of the Christmas Cheer Fund Board of Directors, who says applications are only accepted online as they look to make holidays brighter for those who truly need help.

Applicants must be 18-or-older and the deadline to submit applications is December 6th. Ohl says they’ll then evaluate the submissions to determine who will receive help.

Find more information, including links to apply and/or to donate to the program, at Christmas Cheer Fund Inc on Facebook. Links are also available with this story on our station website.

Ohl says donations can also be made this week at Fareway grocery stores participating in “Round Up at the Registers,” in which proceeds from customers who “round up” their purchases will go to the Christmas Cheer Fund.

Update from Jane Reynolds with Christmas Cheer Fund:
Donations to the 2024 Christmas Cheer Fund are beginning to flow into the campaign. With more than 700 applications already received from North Iowa families, the goal of $100,000 is justified and needed. Please, donate by mailing your check to Christmas Cheer Fund, Box 28, Mason City, IA or by clicking on this link christmascheerfund.org
