The final fall leaf pickup in Charles City for 2024 is set for the week of November 18th to the 22nd
City Administrator Steve Diers reminds residents to rake leaves into the street while keeping leaves 12 to 18 inches from the curb to allow for water flow into the storm sewers. He also advises getting your leaves into the street this weekend to ensure they’re picked up by street crews.
Residents are also asked to NOT include grass clippings, tree branches or dirt in your leaf piles.
In other street news, Diers says the manhole work, part of the finishing touches of the Main Street Rehab project, is expected to be completed by the contractor by Saturday (11.16), with removal of safety cones as well.
The City also recently hired Tony Stonecypher as its new street superintendent.
