The lighting of the Santa’s Shining Lights display in Charles City’s Central Park is set for 5 pm Saturday, November 30th, with holiday fireworks over the Cedar River also planned that night.

Festivities also include the official arrival of Santa Claus in Charles City and the opening of the Santa House from 5 to 7 pm, during which children can tell Santa their holiday wishes and receive a treat.

Santa House hours the rest of the holiday season will be Saturday, December 7, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, and from 1 to 3 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, December 14th and 15th.

Mrs. Claus will be in the Santa House from 4 to 7 pm Saturday and Sunday, December 21st and 22nd, reading stories and giving out treats, while Santa hosts wagon rides coordinated by Main Street Charles City.

Children may leave Letters to Santa at any time once the Santa House is in Central Park by depositing them through the mail slot on the Santa House door. Letters with return addresses will be mailed a postcard from Santa’s Workshop letting them know their letters have been received.
