BREAKING: Student Accused of Making Threats Towards Luther College

A student has been arrested for allegedly making threats against Luther College.
Decorah Police say they were notified by Luther security staff at about 1:30 am Monday (11.25) morning of a student posting threats via Instagram. The social media posts consisted of references to a violent anime series and suggesting to “kill 80% of the students at Luther.”
After confirming the threats, 20-year-old Peter Bumba of Illinois was detained for questioning. DPD says Bumba confessed to posting the messages and he was arrested for terroristic threats, a Class D felony.
A subsequent warrant was approved to search Bumba’s room and vehicle, with no weapons discovered.
Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the college or the Decorah community.
