Santa’s Shining Light Show 2024 to Debut Saturday (11.30) in Charles City

A variety of events kick off the holiday season this Saturday (11.30) in Charles City, according to Chamber of Commerce executive Director Mark Wicks.

A fireworks display over the Cedar River will follow Saturday night at 7 pm, which will cause the Main Street Bridge to be closed for the show.

New Horizons Chamber Director Liz Zweibohmer says New Hampton is also gearing up for a busy Small Business Saturday. She notes, “When you shop locally, you’re not just purchasing goods – you’re investing in our community. By supporting small businesses instead of big-box retailers like Amazon, you help create jobs, stimulate our local economy and foster a sense of community pride.”

According to American Express, on average, for every $100 spent at a local business, about $68 stays within the local economy.
