City of Charles City to Lease Temporary Locations During City Hall Makeover

The City of Charles City has taken another step in preparation for the makeover of City Hall, which also includes police department facilities.
The City Council has approved leases for temporary locations for various City operations. City Administrator Steve Diers says City Hall offices will call 507 Clark Street its new home during renovations.
Meanwhile, CCPD and others will make its temporary digs at 623 Beck Street.
The City will enter two-year leases for both temporary locations, just in case.
The City expects to award a bid for the City Hall renovations later this month and Diers says relocation efforts will likely begin the latter half of the month, with the temporary locations in operation in early January.
The City Hall makeover project is estimated at about $5 million.
